The Essence of Makefield Meeting

As Quakers, we gather in the presence of God. Our 1750 meetinghouse is a place with a rich spiritual quality. Our meetings for worship are characterized by spirit-led quiet reflection and thoughtful speaking from the heart.

The sense of community and caring for one another is an inner strength of the meeting. We believe in inclusiveness, tolerance, patience, acceptance, welcoming visitors, and inviting them to return for worship with us.

Our personal spiritual journeys evolve through individual and group activities both within and outside the meeting we call our religious home. It takes work to be a Quaker; we encourage people to find their own spiritual truths with the guidance of the Inner Light.
